La sceneggiatura, divisa in capitoli, presenta escamotage veramente ingegnosi. Quando, seguendo la storia di uno dei personaggi, ci si imbatte in una scena topica, ecco che si ritorna indietro per raccontare la storia di un altro personaggio fino ad arrivare nuovamente alla stessa scena di prima ma girata secondo il punto di vista del nuovo personaggio.

Flashback, colpi di scena mozzafiato, bivi e ritmo elevato sono altri elementi che concorrono per tenere alta la tensione.

Inoltre la sceneggiatura si mostra molto coraggiosa, plasmando i bambini in efferati assassini. La fotografia riprende i colori polverosi delle favelas, cambiando filtri in base alle situazioni.

Gli attori non sono professionisti , ma la cosa non si nota assolutamente.
