Bharat Nalluri. Jason Rothenberg. Set in an indeterminate year in the distant future, 97 years after a nuclear apocalypse has devastated the surface of Earth, all known humans are residents of merged orbiting space stations known as "The Ark".

Abby Griffin Paige Turco. The discover a lush Earth filled with new wonders and dangers. Clarke and four others search for the former Mount Weather Emergency Operations Center , a possible site of supplies.

Ultimately, they discover that there are hostile survivors on the ground when Jasper, one of their party, is speared. The other delinquents remain at the landing site and, under the leadership of Bellamy Bob Morley , celebrate their new world.

After Abby uses too many supplies to save Jaha, Kane attempts to execute her but, Jaha recovers in time to issue Abby a pardon.

Dean White. Chancellor Jaha recovers and learns of his son Wells' supposed fate on the ground. Abby recruits Raven, a zero-gravity mechanic, to fix a drop pod to send herself to the ground.

Meanwhile on Earth, Clarke, Wells, Murphy, and Bellamy set out to rescue Jasper, who was taken by the grounders after being attacked.

They find Jasper tied to a tree and manage to return to camp with him, in addition to a panther they killed prior his rescue.

Bellamy forces the to trade their wristbands for food. Clarke and Finn manage to keep them.

As the Ark watches more wristbands going offline believing they are dying, a figure watches the from above the camp.

In flashbacks, Clarke's engineer father Jake discovers a life support problem with The Ark, and is arrested for threatening to tell the people and " floated " by Jaha.

In the present, Clarke, Finn, and Wells search for antibiotic seaweed to treat Jasper's infected wounds. Bellamy assembles a hunting group who are followed by Charlotte, a troubled year-old whose parents were executed by Jaha.

A lethal acidic fog hits, forcing Clarke, Finn, and Wells to seek shelter. The three talk, and Clarke berates Wells for his apparent part in her father's execution believing he told his father of Clarke's father's intent to commit treason.

Bellamy and Charlotte take refuge from the fog; he comforts her when she has a nightmare. One of the is fatally burned by the fog, forcing Clarke to mercy kill him; she subsequently succeeds in saving Jasper.

Clarke discovers her mother's culpability in her father's death, learning that she actually told Thelonious, knowing her father would be floated.

Clarke and Wells reconcile. Later, Charlotte's misinterpretation of Bellamy's advice leads her to kill Wells.

Monty attempts to use the wristbands to contact The Ark. Octavia and Jasper discover Murphy's knife outside the wall with two fingers, which are Wells'.

Clarke publicly accuses Murphy, inciting a mob that begins hanging him. Overwhelmed, Charlotte confesses and Murphy is cut down.

Charlotte flees camp with Clarke and Finn, and they take refuge in a bunker, pursued by a revenge-seeking Murphy.

Feeling guilty, Charlotte attempts to turn herself in, but Bellamy intercepts her. The whole group ends up at a dead-end cliff where Charlotte jumps off and commits suicide, and Bellamy banishes Murphy; the incident brings the formerly feuding Clarke and Bellamy together as a strong leadership front for the Monty accidentally fries all of the wristbands.

Finn runs to the bunker in frustration, Clarke follows, and they have sex. On The Ark, Abby and Raven go to great lengths to acquire a pressure regulator , but Kane finds out and has Abby arrested.

Raven launches off The Ark alone and prepares to enter the atmosphere. Bruce Miller. Raven, unconscious, has made it to the ground.

Bellamy reaches her pod first and throws away her radio as he was the one to shoot Jaha and fears repercussions from his actions.

Clarke and Finn follow, and help Raven, who is revealed to be Finn's girlfriend, leaving Clarke devastated. They catch up with Bellamy and tell him of the people to be culled from The Ark to preserve oxygen.

He helps locate the radio, but it cannot be repaired in time, so they devise a plan to fire "flare" rockets that The Ark will see, confirming that Earth is survivable.

On The Ark, the approved plan calls for sealing off and deoxygenating Section A desperate Abby reveals her husband's discovery to The Ark, causing some residents to volunteer for the culling.

After the culling, Abby, imprisoned, and Jaha watch in surprise as the "flare" rockets appear in the viewport above Abby's cell.

Meanwhile, Octavia is captured by a grounder. In flashbacks, Bellamy witnesses Octavia's birth; he names her after Augustus ' sister Octavia the Younger.

Due to The Ark's one child rule, Octavia is forced to live beneath the floor of her family's quarters. To ensure her daughter's safety, her mother resorts to prostitution in order to gain notice of guard's inspections.

When Octavia is 16, Bellamy takes her to a masked ball for Unity Day. She is caught, and their mother is floated.

A year later, Commander Shumway convinces Bellamy to assassinate Jaha, in exchange for a place on the dropship with his sister.

In the present, Bellamy combs the camp looking for Octavia, to no avail. He assembles a search party, and they leave for the woods.

The group is ambushed by grounders, resulting in three deaths before they are suddenly called off by a foghorn. Meanwhile, Clarke and Raven travel to Finn's bunker in hopes of finding a radio transmitter with which to contact The Ark, and Raven discovers Finn's involvement with Clarke.

Bellamy, Finn, and Jasper rescue Octavia who has been protected by the grounder who captured her. Finn discovers that the grounder was the one who called off the attack moments before being stabbed, leaving Finn in serious condition.

John Showalter. In the midst of a hurricane on the ground, Finn is near death from a poisoned stab wound. Bellamy, having captured the grounder who stabbed Finn, tortures him for the antidote but he does not speak.

Octavia convinces the grounder to reveal the antidote by poisoning herself with the same blade. On The Ark, Abby is released but is removed from the Council.

Replacing her is the former chancellor, Diana Sydney, whose intentions are questionable. After learning that Earth is habitable, The Ark begins preparations for Project Exodus: their re-colonization of Earth.

In addition, residual tension from the culling causes mistrust in the Council. Clarke finally confronts her mother who insists that she only intended to have Jaha talk Clarke's father out of his plan, not execute him.

Video connection is established with The Ark. The Ark informs the of a nearby underground depot that may serve as a winter home.

Bellamy and Clarke investigate, and discover a stockpile of weapons and supplies. Dax, whom Commander Shumway is coercing to kill Bellamy, follows them.

Octavia takes advantage of the camp's suffering from the effects of hallucinogenic nuts gathered as rations and frees the grounder, whose name is Lincoln.

Bellamy, also hallucinating, is wracked with guilt for the culling and almost killed by Dax; Bellamy manages to kill Dax with Clarke's help.

Now, coming to terms with his actions, Bellamy, with Clarke's support, agrees to reveal who hired him in exchange for a pardon.

This leads to the arrest and imprisonment of Shumway. He is visited by Diana Sydney, and it is revealed that Jaha's assassination was her idea.

Diana then has Shumway killed in his cell. As the celebrate, they find their video link interrupted when a bomb explodes during the ceremony on The Ark.

Diana engineers a mutiny in order to hijack the first dropship. As the ship launches, it is not fully disconnected from The Ark's main systems, causing an Ark-wide power outage and disabling every dropship.

On the ground, in an effort to initiate peace, Finn arranges a meeting with the local grounder leader through Lincoln. Clarke represents the group and goes to the meeting, where she meets Anya, a grounder leader.

Anya reveals that the 's "flares" burned down a grounder village, causing the grounders to desire their destruction despite it having been an accident.

Jasper, who along with Bellamy is monitoring the meeting from cover, believes he sees the grounder spotters in the trees about to shoot, he opens fire, and the meeting dissolves into battle.

That night, Clarke and Bellamy see the dropship descending. It comes in too fast with no parachute, and violently crashes in the distance.

The discover no survivors at the Exodus dropship. Murphy returns to the dropship after being captured and tortured by the grounders for information about the group.

Soon, a deadly virus spreads thanks to Murphy, who was used by the grounders as an agent of biological warfare.

Bellamy, Raven and Clarke all contract the disease. Octavia learns from Lincoln that this is his people's way of softening the battlefield.

To delay the incoming attack, Raven builds a bomb to stop the grounders from crossing the bridge featured in the previous episode.

Bellamy tasks Jasper with detonating the bomb, and he does so just as the raiding party reaches the bridge. Later, Murphy smothers Connor as revenge for his part in Murphy's hanging.

Raven breaks up with Finn. Monty discovers a strange signal on the Exodus dropship's black box that apparently caused it to crash.

After a fire destroys most of the food supply, the group sends out hunting parties to restock. Clarke, Finn, and Myles go out together, but Clarke and Finn are captured and brought to the grounder camp.

Anya instructs Clarke to save Tris, her second, a young girl who was injured in the bomb blast. Clarke tries to save her but is unsuccessful.

In revenge, Finn is taken away to be executed. Clarke escapes by killing her guard and runs. Bellamy, Raven, Octavia, and Monty search for the missing party and find Myles, hurt in the woods.

Monty mysteriously disappears after hearing a strange signal on their hand radios. Kane awakens on a devastated Ark. He searches for survivors and realizes Jaha is alive in the Earth Monitoring Station and trying to bring systems online.

With over half The Ark's populace likely dead, they discover that there are survivors in an access bay to the exodus ship.

Kane braves the extreme heat in a maintenance tunnel to reach the survivors—including Abby. Clarke is recaptured by Anya, and they encounter a grounder named Tristan, who assumes command.

Clarke is saved by Lincoln and taken to a very much alive Finn. Lincoln leads the two through a network of tunnels occupied by the reapers, cannibalistic humanoids the grounders themselves are afraid of.

Lincoln seemingly sacrifices himself so Clarke and Finn can live to warn the others, including Octavia. Back at the dropship, Murphy has taken Jasper hostage.

Bellamy trades himself for Jasper. While Raven attempts to open the dropship door, Murphy shoots his gun aimlessly at the floor after hearing a gasp, accidentally shooting her.

Murphy prepares to hang Bellamy. She finally succeeds in opening the door only to find Bellamy dangling, but is able to rescue him.

Murphy retreats to the upper level, Murphy blows a hole in the ship with gunpowder and escapes with a radio. A returned Clarke convinces the group to flee the camp for the ocean where they'll be safe.

On The Ark, with the dropships no longer functional, Jaha realizes that the only way to save the rest of the citizens is by bringing The Ark and its people to the ground.

The are ambushed by grounder scouts and forced to retreat to camp. Meanwhile, the remaining citizens of The Ark prepare to return to Earth.

After a technical failure to jettison requires manual intervention, Jaha remains on The Ark to an inevitable suffocation in one to two weeks when air runs out.

Mecha Station, with Abby and Kane, makes it to the ground. Back at the dropship, Tristan leads the grounders' attack. The mount their defense.

Octavia is injured and leaves with Lincoln. Most of the retreat into the dropship; Anya leaps in after them and is subdued.

As previously planned, Jasper manages to activate the dropship's rockets; the massive fireball kills all of the grounders, and apparently Finn and Bellamy.

When the emerge from the dropship, gas grenades drop at their feet, and they all pass out. Clarke wakes up in a white room.

Through the window in her door she sees Monty locked in an identical room across the hallway. A sign next to his door reads "Mount Weather Quarantine Ward".

Finding Monty gone from his cell, Clarke breaks out and discovers she is trapped in an underground complex inside Mount Weather. She discovers that an entire population of humans has survived but are unable to go outside because they have never built up the resistance to radiation that the grounders and the have from space and adaptation.

After meeting their leader, President Dante Wallace, Clarke is invited to stay along with the 47 surviving teenagers out of the original that landed on Earth.

Distrusting him, she makes a break for freedom but is stopped by Jasper. Clarke secretly plots an escape.

Meanwhile, a vengeful Tristan hunts the few members of the that avoided capture; Abby, Kane and the Ark survivors save them and kill Tristan.

At the dropship, an injured Raven kills a grounder survivor and is tended to by a remorseful Murphy who reveals his tragic background; they are later found by the Ark survivors and the kids they had rescued.

Bellamy attacks Murphy, and Kane arrests him. The group returns to the newly established Camp Jaha, the remains of the crashed Alpha Station.

Separated from everyone else, Lincoln tries to save a poisoned Octavia, but with no antidote, he is forced to take her to his village, knowing it will mean certain death if he is caught.

John F. Michael Angeli. Chancellor Jaha discovers a baby left on The Ark and plans to take him to Earth.

Octavia holds Nyko hostage and leverages him to Indra, the village leader, in order to get Lincoln back. Abby performs surgery on Raven to remove the bullet from her spine without any anaesthesia.

Jaha learns that the baby is a hallucination of his son caused by oxygen deprivation , who convinces him to continue living his life; Jaha crash lands a nuclear missile carrying him to Earth.

During the prisoner exchange, Octavia is attacked by the reapers, who capture Lincoln. Clarke learns that Anya — the leader of the grounders — is being held in Mount Weather with other prisoners being forced to supply blood to heal the mountain residents.

Clarke and Anya escape Mount Weather into the reaper tunnels. Abby is punished for supplying guns to Finn.

Bellamy and the others leave Camp Jaha to search for their friends. Octavia joins Indra's hunting party in order to follow the reapers and retrieve Lincoln, but he is not among the grounders they intercept.

Kane goes after Finn, Bellamy, and the others, and appoints Abby chancellor in his absence. Clarke and Anya risk their lives to escape the tunnels, then Anya takes Clarke hostage.

Lincoln is shown to be in Mount Weather, and it is revealed that the reapers work with the mountain men, bringing prisoners to Mount Weather and being fed dead grounders.

Chancellor Jaha is found in a desert and rescued by a boy named Zoran, living with his parents who left their people in search of a place in the "dead zone" called the "City of Light".

Searching for their friends, Finn, Bellamy, and the others find a survivor from The Ark — Mel — who is saved by Bellamy after Sterling dies while trying to rescue her.

While Clarke and Anya are on the run from mountain men who follow them, Raven starts working in the camp again alongside Wick, who has made her a brace for her leg.

Octavia finally reunites with Bellamy and the others. Chancellor Jaha is forced to leave Zoran and his parents when Zoran's father trades him for a horse.

On their way out of the woods, Clarke and Anya arrive at Camp Jaha. At the end, Ark soldiers shoot and kill Anya and knock out Clarke, after mistaking her for a hostile grounder.

Charlie Craig. Clarke is brought into Camp Jaha and, after receiving medical attention from Abby, is reunited with Bellamy, Octavia, and Raven.

They go after Finn and Murphy. Kane is hoping to find peace with the grounders but instead is imprisoned at the grounder camp, where he discovers Jaha is also a prisoner.

After defeating the ghost, the ghost begs him to enjoy his youth before it disappears. The next day, the student council at Mob's school threatens to turn the Telepathy Club's room over to the newly-formed Body Improvement Club as Mob is about to join.

After having a flashback where Mob remembers his poor physical abilities, Mob decides to join the Body Improvement Club instead.

During Body Improvement Club practice, Mob faints and is left in the clubroom to recover. The Telepathy Club, permitted to stay in the room which is now being used to store bodybuilding equipment, comments that Mob will never be popular even if he trains his body.

Distraught, he is intercepted on his way home by a woman in a smiling mask, who informs him that she can help him become popular.

He follows her to an underground meeting area where a cult known as LOL has formed in service to a man with the power to make anyone laugh and smile.

A reporter from Mob's school, Mezato Ichi, is forcibly converted, but even the cult leader Dimple is unable to convert Mob. It is revealed that Dimple is a high level spirit possessing a man, and the spirit emerges to kill Mob.

This frees the converts of the cult. When the rival delinquents are unable to win, they call for their leader, Teruki "Teru" Hanazawa.

In spite of being physically unimposing, Teru disposes of the Salt delinquents with ease. In an attempt to get revenge, delinquent leader Tenga Onigawara attempts to recruit the Body Improvement Club into the turf war.

When they turn him down, he concocts a plan to get Mob kidnapped by the rival school in order to force the Body Improvement Club to attack Black Vinegar Middle School.

Meanwhile, Mob has been haunted all day by the weakened spirit of Dimple, who claims to have reformed. As per the plan by the Salt delinquents, Mob is captured by delinquents from Black Vinegar and refuses to use his powers to escape despite urging from Dimple.

The Body Improvement Club members then defeat an army of delinquents in an attempt to rescue Mob, but they are similarly unable to defeat Teru once he appears, exhibiting his own psychic abilities.

After recognizing Mob's psychic abilities, Teru attempts to force him into a psychic duel by attacking him, but Mob refuses despite increasingly brutal attacks because of his ideals to never use psychic powers on a human person.

Dimple attempts to defend Mob, but Teru quickly exorcises him. As Mob becomes cornered inside the school, Teru's sanity begins to deteriorate after Mob deflects his knives in self-defense which caused Teru's hair to be sheared off.

This is because Teru's hair is a source of pride to himself. As Teru grows increasingly frustrated with Mob and his sanity weakens, Mob realizes that Teru's hatred towards him is because both psychics lack confidence and know that they are nothing without their psychic powers.

Teru chokes Mob against the wall with brute force, where it is revealed that unlike him, Teru's frequent use of his psychic abilities in his daily life quickly established his popularity within his school and gave him a superiority complex, proclaiming himself as a "chosen one".

Unconsciously awakening in "??? After the incident at the Black Vinegar Middle School, the whole town hears rumors pointing to Mob's abilities and his fight with Teru.

Mob's brother Ritsu Kageyama is followed around by various people interested in him and his brother's powers. Ritsu is not happy about this because he curses his own lack of ability to use ESP.

The leader of the Telepathy Club, Tome Kurata, takes an interest in the psychic fight and tries to get Mob to identify other Espers in public.

Later, Ritsu tours a psychic research institute known as the Awakening Lab, but all of the subjects have minimal and weak ESP abilities.

At the end of the episode, Ritsu accidentally bends a spoon psychically and sees the ghost of Dimple who is apparently still "alive" somehow.

These incidents reveal that Ritsu does in fact have a hidden psychic ability, just like his older brother Mob.

As thugs from other middle school gangs hear about White T-Poison and make moves to defeat him, Ritsu meets Dimple and gradually learns about and improves his psychic powers.

Due to his newfound power, he ends up making Kamuro pay for his dubious deeds. Meanwhile, Mob encounters two con-artists trying to swindle him for money for a "expensive" vase he damaged.

However, Reigen arrives and bails out Mob by turning the tables against the con-artists. With his growing psychic powers and Dimple's guidance, Ritsu develops a superiority complex.

Ritsu eventually runs into Teru and attempts to fight him despite Dimple's warnings. Teru's experience and already strong psychic powers nearly overwhelms Ritsu, as he is forced to flee.

Ritsu then confronts the other middle school gang thugs in an alley and uses his psychic powers to easily subdue them.

As Ritsu defeats the thugs, Mob arrives. Mob is led by Teru to Ritsu and the middle schools thugs. Mob is happy to see that Ritsu has finally developed psychic powers.

Ritsu, still relishing in his powers, attempts to end his relationship with Mob, but is shocked to see Mob protecting him by apologizing on his behalf to the thugs.

The thugs make Mob get on his knees and grovel to them. Nearby, an adult esper named Cadre Koyama is watching this. Koyama intervenes and attempts to kidnap Ritsu after mistaking him for Shigeo.

Koyama uses a cursed spray on Mob to knock him out and escape with Ritsu. Elsewhere, Yusuke Sakurai, another adult esper working with Koyama infiltrates the Awakening Lab and kidnaps the subjects.

Teru and Dimple rescue Mob and take him to Teru's apartment to recover. Teru reveals to Mob and Dimple that Ritsu was kidnapped by a member Koyama of Claw, a criminal organization of espers bent on world domination who have kidnapped other young adolescent espers to brainwash them and use them for their nefarious plans.

The trio arrive at the lab and question its founder, Kenji Mitsuura about what happened. Reigen, tracking Mob's cell phone, arrives at Seventh Division.

The Claw lackeys guarding the entrance try to stop Reigen, but they let him in when they mistakenly believe he is the leader of Claw. Elsewhere, Mob, Teru and Ritsu are trapped in a cursed room that prevents them from using their psychic powers.

Reigen eventually arrives and is able to free the three young espers. Reigen convinces the lackeys to leave Claw and make something of their lives.

Reigen eventually learns that Mob begrudgingly broke his promise to not use psychic powers against people.

While Teru and Ritsu fight against the Scars, Mob is stressed whether to use his psychic powers to save his friends or to run away as advised by Reigen.

A brief flashback is shown to when Mob as a child first met Reigen about helping control his budding psychic powers. Sakurai comes up behind Reigen and cuts him down in front of Mob.

Reigen is miraculously uninjured from Sakurai's attack and proceeds to take on the Scars. The Scars' psychic attacks have no effect against Reigen.

Mob subconsciously sent his psychic energy into Reigen, thereby "running away". Once he incapacitates Ishiguro, Reigen chastises the Scars for their delusions of grandeur, saying that even with psychic powers they are still human.

Reigen's words drag Sakurai and Muraki back into reality. Ishiguro, having recovered, rejects Reigen's philosophical views by claiming that psychics are elite and superior to the rest of humanity and they should be worshipped.

Mob counters Ishiguro by saying that having psychic powers doesn't make one popular. Ishiguro snaps and starts gathering psychic energy to destroy the Seventh Division and everyone in it.

Reigen then loses Mob's psychic energy. Shou arrives and proceeds to take down Ishiguro and Seventh Division. Shou expresses disappointment in Mob before he leaves.

Dimple finally escapes Matsuo's evil spirit jar and knocks him out. A post-credit scene shows Mob and Reigen trying to hunt down a mythical Tsuchinoko, but Reigen ends up instead gathering a lot of mushrooms.

Mob exorcises a spirit that may have been a Tsuchinoko but is told by Reigen they don't exist. Reigen accepts an exorcism job from a farmer and quickly deduces that there was some spirit involved, Reigen summons Mob, who exorcises the high level spirit Wriggle Wriggle by controlling plants using his psychic powers.

Meanwhile, Kamuro Shinji resigns from his post as student council president for framing his fellow students.

Mezato jumps on the chance to help Mob develop and become the leader of the Psycho Helmet Club and trains Mob to run for president.

When it is Mob's turn to speak, he spends his allocated 5 minutes mute on the stage, being too scared to say anything.

Mob places last, with Kamuro being re-elected as president. Feeling down, Mob is told to go home by the Body Improvement Club.

After receiving a love letter, Mob meets Emi, who asks him out. Mob starts walking home with her every day after school.

Emi tells Mob that she likes books and is writing a novel, which Mob agrees to read. Mob is happier at home and work. One week after the election day, Emi reveals that she asked him out on a dare, and asks him whether he has his own feelings or opinions, as she couldn't read him.

She apologizes and leaves. Mob is seemingly not upset, but remembers the time he spent with Emi over the week.

Emi's friends tease her for writing a novel and tear up her work. Mob confronts them and picks up the torn pieces and says he made the decision to consider his feelings more.

When a gust of wind blows the pieces away, in a rare display of emotion, Mob uses his powers and reassembles the book and confesses to be an esper.

While Emi thanks him, Tsubomi, who is watching the entire thing says she is very impressed. Dimple is surprised Mob showed his powers to another person and asks whether Emi fell for him.

Emi gets an idea for a story by thinking about Mob, a middle school student with psychic powers. Milan Cheylov.
